Peugeot 504 Homage Concept

The iconic Peugeot 504, a car manufactured by the French automaker Peugeot between 1968 and 1983, ruled the Nigerian roads for several decades. It achieved this by having an iconic beautiful design, rugged and rigid architecture, adaptive handling suitable for Nigerians roads and a resilient engine that made the station wagon version a favorite for interstate drivers in Nigeria.

The Presence of the Peugeot 504 in Nigeria, was further aided by PAN (Peugeot Automobile Nigeria), an assembly plant handling CKD (Completely Knocked Down) parts, created in a partnership between the Nigerian Government and the French in 1969.

PAN, at the dawn of the millennium, introduced the Peugeot 504 2000 version. This version, with its enhanced modern look and performance, revived the 504 vibe among Nigerians. The model became the rave among the Nigerian elite and Government offices therefore earning its position as a Nigerian official car, once again.

Sadly, seventeen years after, this icon has left the isles of recognition and has fast been eroded from the spotlight. The Peugeot 504 Homage concept takes iconic designs cues from the classic Peugeot 504 and translates it using the current trend language and design philosophy of Peugeot.

Side View: Maintains features such as the distinct sharp line, similar to the lateral line of a fish, that runs from the front to the rear of the classic 504. A chamfer is also added to the shape of the boot as that of the classic model.

Front View: Takes graphical cues from the classic Peugeot 504’s iconic trapezoid-shaped lamps. The bumper vent design also mirrors the classic’s fascia. The bonnet takes the “W” profile of the classic.
