Lemur Auto-Rickshaw Project

Automotive Design, Industrial Design

A design exercise to add character to the auto-rickshaw. This becomes necessary as the cost constraints involved in the manufacture of auto-rickshaws has left them with little character. In order to supplement for it’s bland character, users often have to customize them with body and paint jobs.
This concept takes inspiration from the lemur.

Front: The front references the arrangement and graphical nature of the lemur’s two eyes and nozzle.

Rear: The lemur’s stance in depicted by the engine cover. Being right below the window creates a a tail-like connection.

Side: References the wedged stance of the lemur. The downward facing tail guides the roof design.
